Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to PacWallex. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we look after your personal data when you use our website, mobile apps, and related services, and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
2. Information We Collect
We collect and process the following data about you:
- Information you provide when you register (name, email address)
- Information you provide when you update your profile
- Profile or merchant avatar images you choose to upload (stored on our servers and shown on your profile, terminal checkout screens, and related merchant-facing views)
- Optional terminal or merchant details you choose to save, such as trading name, registered address, and operating location (latitude and longitude)
- Payment and card-operation metadata when you use supported in-person features (for example prepaid card tap results, Stripe Terminal transaction references, and amounts you initiate as a merchant)
- Information about your use of our services
- Technical data including IP address, browser type, and device information
We do not collect camera video, scan your entire photo library, or perform continuous location tracking. See section 4 for how device permissions work when you use optional features such as avatar upload, QR scanning, NFC card tap, in-person card payments, or setting a terminal location.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our service
- To notify you about changes to our service
- To provide customer support
- To operate merchant and terminal features, including profile avatars and optional saved terminal locations
- To process in-person merchant payments and prepaid card operations you initiate
- To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our service
- To monitor the usage of our service
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues
4. Device Permissions (Mobile App and Web)
When you use our mobile app (including TickTap Pro, TickTap Max, and Pacwallex Android apps) or website, we may request access to certain device features only with your permission and only when you choose to use a related feature:
- Photos and images. Used when you choose to upload or change your profile or merchant avatar. On mobile, the app opens the system photo picker so you can select a single image from your device. We do not browse or index your full photo library. The image you select is cropped in the app, uploaded to our storage, and linked to your profile. You can replace or stop using a custom avatar at any time by updating your profile.
- Camera. Used when you choose to scan a QR code (for example to open a trusted link or complete a payment-related action). The camera stream is processed on your device to read the code. We do not record, store, or upload camera video or images. The decoded result is used only as part of the action you initiated (such as opening a link you scanned).
- Location. Used if you choose to set your terminal's operating location (for example via “Use current location” in profile or terminal settings) or when connecting an in-person card reader that requires device location for payment compliance. We do not track your location in the background. If you save coordinates, we store latitude and longitude on your terminal profile to support merchant and terminal operations. You can clear saved location data at any time in your settings.
- NFC. Used when you tap a supported prepaid or program card to check balance, charge, reload, or sign in. The app reads card identifiers needed for the action you initiated. We do not use NFC to read unrelated payment cards unless you explicitly start a supported card operation.
You can deny these permissions in your device or browser settings. Related features will not work until permission is granted or, for photo selection, until you choose an image. Audio feedback for actions (where available) uses standard in-app playback and does not require access to your microphone.
5. In-Person Card Payments (Stripe Terminal)
On supported mobile builds (for example TickTap Max), merchants with an active Stripe account may accept contactless in-person card and wallet payments through Stripe Terminal Tap to Pay. When you use this feature:
- Card-present payment data is captured and processed by Stripe's certified Terminal SDK on your device. Our app does not store full card numbers or card security codes.
- Stripe acts as the regulated payment service provider for open-loop card acceptance. Stripe's privacy policy and terms apply to payment processing they perform on your behalf.
- We receive transaction metadata needed to show payment status in the app (such as amount, currency, and Stripe payment or reader references).
- Device location may be used by Stripe Terminal when required for reader connection, fraud prevention, or regulatory compliance for in-person payments.
Stripe Terminal features are available only to enrolled merchants and only in countries where Stripe supports Tap to Pay on Android for your account.
6. Data Security
We have implemented appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know.
7. Your Legal Rights
Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request correction of your personal data
- Request erasure of your personal data
- Object to processing of your personal data
- Request restriction of processing your personal data
- Request transfer of your personal data
- Right to withdraw consent
To delete your account in the app or on the web, sign in and open Delete account (also available from your Profile). Deletion removes your sign-in and associated profile data we store, subject to any records we must retain by law.
